What Do TSCM Technicians Do?
A Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) technician is a highly specialized service that sweeps and detects the presence of eavesdropping devices such as hidden microphones, “bugs” or cameras, via RF transmissions, LAN line, infrared(Laser), internet, Bluetooth, or wireless(GPS) platforms. The goal of a Technical Surveillance Countermeasure technician is to detect existing security threats and identify the source of such threats. TSCM Technicians can require many different types of state-of-the-art equipment to conduct such sweeps and be successful. TSCM equipment is NOT purchased in your local spy shop. Instead, it cost thousands of dollars to purchase and usually the manufacturers only sell such products to skilled specialized TSCM technicians with capabilities to operate them.
